The First Memory Lab on the West Coast
Unless you are a millennial, you probably have a room full of old media files: audiocassettes, floppy disks and videotapes of varying decades…remember Beta? If you do, then we can help you organize those obsolete formats into the new digital age.
Funded by a $10,000 grant from Las Patronas, a local philanthropic group, the Memory Lab, which is part of the History Room on the second floor, was opened on April 1st to much fanfare and Press. See NY Times, San Diego Tribune, and La Jolla Light coverage.
The Lab’s hours are determined by volunteers, but you can call and reserve your spot anytime. (858-552-1657) A helpful assistant will guide you through the process of digitizing your old media into modern files that can be readily accessed and preserved.
