COMPUTER SERVICES
INTERNET ACCESS SERVICES AND COMPUTER USE
Internet access during hours the Library is open until 15 minutes before the library closing time. Library patrons are expected to use Internet workstations without library staff assistance. Library patrons should consult basic Internet self-help resources as library staff assistance is limited.
A valid library or Internet card is required to use a computer. Patrons must use their own library card to access the Internet.
A patron may use an available computer all day without making an advance reservation. However, you may or may not be given a full-length session, if that computer has been reserved. A patron may also reserve a computer for a future time.
WIRELESS NETWORK ACCESS
Free access to WiFi is available throughout the La Jolla Library and the parking lot from 8am – 8pm every day, even when the library is closed.
To access the Internet, simply launch your Web browser then read and accept the disclaimer. Your computer's home page will appear and you may begin surfing immediately.
SECURITY ISSUES
When using any network connection, including the wireless Public Network, do not enable file sharing or print sharing.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
Illegal or inappropriate use of the Internet is not permitted.
No Personal Wi-Fi Hotspots.
DESKTOP APPLICATIONS
Internet workstations have Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher available. Internet Explorer is the default web browser, but Google Chrome is also available.
